She also serves as Co-Chair of the following Committees:

  •  Justus-Warren Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Task Force

  •  Joint Legislative County Caucus

  •  International Business and Trade Legislative Caucus

 

The Speaker of the House recently appointed Representative Carney to the newly formed School Safety Committee.

Representative Carney being sworn in for her eighth term with two of her 14 grandchildren.

Some of the legislation Representative Carney has sponsored includes:

  • Legalizing Medical Marijuana

  • Juvenile Justice Reinvestment Act

  • CPR Completion Required before High School Graduation

  • AEDs in Government Buildings

  • Designate Primary Stroke Centers, ensuring that the state designate hospitals with national accreditation for primary stroke center are made known to EMS and the public

  • Pulse Oximetry Screening Required, ensuring all newborns are screened for critical congenital heart defects

  • Hypertension Awareness Day Resolution declaring May 21st as Hypertension Awareness Day
